Commercial Officer

Machine Eye is currently seeking a Commercial Officer to join our specialist and experienced team. The role will be in a growing startup with existing product line and established customer base. You will form a key role in growing and expanding our commercial offering, introducing customer success functionality, and supporting the overall commercial development of the business. You will accelerate relationships with trusted partners, while building long term meaningful relationships with our partners and customers. About Us: Machine Eye is a scaling technology business using AI and computer vision to make heavy industrial machinery safer, smarter, and autonomous, with supporting businesses and their work being a key priority. Our Belfast team is based in The Catalyst Innovation Centre, located in Belfast’s titanic quarter. Our Irish team is based in the Portershed, Galway City. We operate hybrid, flexible working practices with a baseline of 2 days per week in the office. We’re at an exciting time in the journey of a venture backed, growing startup, and you’ll be joining to support and influence a key period in our development, with excellent opportunities for advancement. We have lots of opportunity for both office and site based work, where our customer facing team are working with high value machinery in interesting and diverse environments.

Responsibilities

What you will do

You will engage and qualify our pipeline of prospective clients across a variety of industries, and build our business through negotiating, selling and closing deals with clients. As part of this, you will manage the sales cycle from qualification through to closure whilst ensuring KPIs and targets are met. Our clients are geographically diverse, and work in a variety of industries, so expect to travel to their business locations to co-design bespoke proposals, tailored to their needs. Communication is key, and you will interface with our technical team to ensure customer requirements are met. You’ll build valuable and rich relationships with our clients, becoming their key point of contact in their relationship with us.

You’ll support the wider business in preparation of materials and content to best showcase our solutions, and support this process through webinars, events, trade shows and other opportunities.  

Ideally you’ll have experience with technology in the automotive/tier 1 space already, but if you don’t, don’t worry - you’ll learn the nuances. We work with partners and clients which span sectors including agriculture, waste and recycling, manufacturing, and material handling. If you’ve experience in a sales function in these sectors, it’s advantageous, but not essential as you’ll learn the space!

The Ideal Candidate

Skills we’re looking for

·      Business Development of Sales Experience (5-10 year) or experience in a related field.

·      An agile and strategic mindset, where you can maintain a high attention to detail in a fast-moving environment.

·      A desire to grow in the industry, and develop the role

·      Experience with enterprise sales, and associated business models

·      Proven experience of identifying, formulating and generating opportunities, and converting these into successful outcomes.  

·      Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication. You’ll have an ability to translate and communicate technically complex area effectively.

·      You’ll have a high degree of competency in standard business software (Office, CRM, Accounts Management) and be able to demonstrate a track record of producing high quality, detailed documentation. You’ll be able to quickly adapt to new software packages.

·      While not essential, experience of project management and compliance is desirable to support business activities.

·      National and International Travel will be required.

Remuneration

This role will start from £55,000 per year, related to experience. Alongside this, we offer full gym membership; parking or public travel allowance; and community days to each employee.
